Start with the intended meaning
Both parts must fit the surrounding construction. Sowohl … wie auch is an established variant. Simple phrase pairs normally have no separating comma; embedded clauses keep their own boundaries.
Choose the relationship before the pair
Wir besprechen sowohl die Kosten als auch den Zeitplan. Both objects depend on besprechen and are accusative noun phrases. The article differs because Kosten is plural and Zeitplan masculine singular; parallel grammar does not mean identical endings. Start with the plain sentence for each part, then combine them.

A broken version such as “sowohl für Musik als auch Architektur studieren” mixes a prepositional object with an infinitive activity. Repair the intended message: Sie interessiert sich sowohl für Musik als auch für Architektur, or Sie möchte sowohl Musik hören als auch Architektur studieren. These express different meanings.
