Ask about the process, not an imagined universal rule
Einlösen means redeeming the voucher or credit in this context. Use Wo kann ich diesen Pfandbon einlösen? to ask for the relevant point. If something on the voucher is unclear, ask the staff to check it. Do not infer validity in another shop, a fixed expiry period or a required app from the word Pfandbon alone.
A deposit credit and a shopping receipt
A Pfandbon records a deposit credit from the return process. It is different from the Kassenbon, the receipt for your shopping. Keep it until the credit has been handled, and ask Wo kann ich diesen Pfandbon einlösen? — “Where can I redeem this deposit voucher?”
Two situations to practise
The following situations are invented for language practice. They do not describe a particular venue or its actual prices. Use the stated conditions for each example.
Find the redemption point
Wo kann ich diesen Pfandbon einlösen?
Bitte geben Sie ihn an der Kasse ab.
The second line is a fictional staff answer. It explains this example’s process, not a rule for every return system. Ihn refers back to der Pfandbon.
Check which document you have
Ist das der Pfandbon oder der Kassenbon?
Könnten Sie sich den Bon bitte kurz ansehen?
The questions ask for identification and help. They do not assume that every document showing an amount is a shopping receipt or a deposit voucher.
