Wünschen takes a recipient and a wish

In Ich wünsche dir gute Besserung, dir is the dative recipient. Gute Besserung is the wish being expressed. Replace dir with Ihnen to use polite address, and keep the capital I.

In Ich hoffe, dass es dir bald besser geht, the finite verb geht comes at the end of the dass clause. The phrase uses dative dir again, this time in es geht dir besser.

A short message and reply

B

A

B

Write a message for the actual recipient

Write two versions: one to a friend using dir, and one to a person you address with Sie using Ihnen. Add your name or the names of the group sending the message.

A compact model is Liebe Frau Weber, wir wünschen Ihnen gute Besserung. Viele Grüße, Ihr Team. For a friend, Hallo Mia, gute Besserung! Ich denke an dich is a possible warmer message. The choice depends on the relationship.
